Subsidies for increasing production
The Andalusian Department of Agriculture and Fisheries has given a subsidy to Exportaciones Agrícolas Aldenor, from El Ejido, which is going to be allocated to a project that will let the company increase its capacity of handling products. The subsidy, approved by the General Direction of Industries and Quality on Food and Agriculture, reaches 26,226 euros, the 20% of the investment that the company will spend on the purchase of equipment.This subsidy is part of the Program of Rural Development 2007- 2013 and it is co-financed with European funds (FEDER) from Ministry of Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs and from Andalusian Government.
This program, from what the Delegate of the Andalusian Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, Juan Deus, says, is aimed to help companies dedicated to handling and marketing of fruit and vegetables to increase its competiveness and add an extra value to their products.
The Andalusian Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, from what Juan Deus says, considers that agrarian industry is a priority sector for economic development in Andalusia, and due to that the government budgets for this year do include a line item of 10 million euros allocated to help investments of companies of food and agriculture sector in Almería. The budgets include as well, another line item of almost 4 million euros allocated to the Plan of Marketing of fruit and vegetable sector.
